First Zoo Trip

On Saturday we took Livy to the zoo for the first time and had a fantastic time. I honestly didn't know what to expect from Livy. I figured that she would look around, maybe whine from the heat or sleep in the stroller. She did far better then expected by "studying" each animal as we visited them and while I showed her the signs for them. It was extremely exciting when she would sign them back and even better when later in the day she would sign the animals. As if she was saying, "Hey! Do you remember the bears?"

Hanging out with dad and the elephants
Livy's favorite animal was the giraffes which she never paid any attention to in the past. She was ecstatic at looking at them, fascinate at the baby (not pictured here) and continuously repeating the sign. I must say that her attempts at the sign was hilarious. It looked like she was trying to knock off her head. Sorry that the picture is a little dark, but this one really showcased her sign.
Of course we had to ride the giraffe on the new carousel.
We ended our hot but fun filled day with a train ride.

  1. I loved being part of Livy's first zoo trip...my favorite part was watching her enjoy the animals. Watching her signing the names of animals was thrilling and amusing especially the Giraffe. She catches on so quickly. Loves and Hugs from Grandma.

  2. How well I remember our first trip to the zoo! So much fun! Except we haven't been to see the new carousel yet, and Mason is currently freaking out because he can't see the picture of it anymore.

  4. Looks like so much fun! We're taking our first zoo trip (other than zoo lights last winter) in two weeks. I can't wait to see if Love Bug enjoys herself.
